Introduction to Dr Faustus:
Dr Faustus was written by Christopher Marlowe, It is based on the German story Faust, Sometimes it is referred to the story 'The Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus'. The story is based around a man who sells his soul to the devil for the knowlege of power, The play was first published in 1604 11 years after The play write Christopher Marlowe died.
The play was set in the 1580's and set in Europe, specifically Germany and Italy.
