Rush Review

Akram Khan Rush Review:
Rush is a Dance sequence of 3 people dancing it is a contemporary dance phase. 3 people are performing at different speeds thought out the phase. It is a form of Indian classical dace called 'Khatak'. The phase explores spatial freedom and associated with the unpredictable journey of falling out of a plane. When they used different Dynamics it made it more visually pleasing, On the contrast there were moment of stillness in the piece this makes you feel more aware as they were one minuite going rerally fast and then they just stop. The dancer had alot of control over their body this can be seen when they forse for 10 seconds. this also shows they have good stamina.
The dance its self had alot of canon, Unison, And solo moments. the effect of canon shows that the dancers have got commincation with each other, The use of unison this shows that they are one big group of people not just danceing alone, the effect unison had on me is being aware of timeing and dancers around me in my own performance. There were times when only one dancer would be performing this was intresting because it showed that they were also very alone, and their individual skills. The use of repatation and imitation was intresting at first however i felt as if it became tedious as i was seeing the same thing over again.
Overall i thought it was really good how they used the different types of dance techniqe to show a moving piece. It was very intents to watch because of the rapied movments, However they could of not used repatation as much as they did.

My own opinion:
I wasn't sure to start with when we first saw the video i thought that it would be boring. But it was actually really good fun. it also challenged us. I also liked it because i got to work with people that i didn't normally work with and it got me talking to everyone in the class.

  1. Well done Natalie, be sure to reference where you found information from. Ensure someone proof reads your work and link this up to your dance unit. Emily
