Script Review First Draft

The first thing that i think works in my Script is my Storyline because it is so close to home, and its a really a touching story to people that don't know what happened. The second thing i think that works is my dialogue because it is quite touching and heartfelt. The Third thing i think works is the characters because they are mostly male and this different to most plays i have seen before because their is normally a equal amount female and male whereas in my play i have mainly male.
The first thing that requires development is my structure because i do not really have one at the moment, so i need to figure out how to structure it, I also need to add more to my Script in order to make any editing, I also think i need to have a read though to see how it sounds up on its feet before i change or do anything to the play.
I will make changes like cutting down my main characters long monologues because i feel like she has so much to say and i do not want her to say it all at once i would like to space her lines out a bit more because they are all close together, i do not think that is correct at this point in the play. I feel like my main character gives away to much of her pain whereas she should space it out more so it makes more tension during the play so its not right at the start of the play.
In the final piece i would like

Rosas Review

Rosas Review

Rosas consists of 8 sections these sections are 1, Moving In 2, Floor 3, Chairs 4,Buliding 5, Glass Interior 6, Laying Down 7, Inner Court 8, Coda, in the stage Version there are only 4 dancers where as in the film version there are 18 dancers. The filmed Version is set in and old School in Belgium this is the specific place that Rosas wanted as it brings in a lot of natural light, this light would be used in the dance.
The danced was first performed in in 18983 and filmed in 1997, they style of dance is Post-Modern and though-out the dance you can see they use pedestrian like movements, these actions are very repetitive, they whole piece is energetic and dynamic, this becomes more apparent though-out as the camera becomes the composer and choreographer by taking us on journey, the camera is zooming in and out layering images to become a rhythm by filming the piece we are able to see more of the dancers and all the different angles that there is to see. The music was composed by Thierry de Mey and Peter Vermeersch, the music changes as it get to the end as the dancers create the sound from their breathing and they bodies.
The Costume they use is very plan and dark and also looks very easy to move around, they would have needed something that is easy to move in as they move a lot though-out the dance.
I like the fact that it was filmed in a school as it does bring natural light in but also because it goes with the style of dance they are using and performing, it also gives the idea of the un-known like you don’t know what is going to happen next it was not Predictable, If I was to change anything it would be the actions I would not use so much repetition, as I think it got a bit boring at times seeing the same movement though-out.

Rush Review

Rush Choreography

I think what work was the fact that we used canon and some Unison, I also like the fact that we changed the dynamics

Down&Outs Evaulation

In Down and Outs Choreography I think what worked was the fact that we were in small groups and we used so much Unison because  with this piece of dance we needed to work together, What also worked was we used so much leg movements, This worked because the spacing was smaller than we planed so by using leg movements it was easier and better to the choreography, If I was to do it again I would change the fact that we didn't work with the cast until show week I would also change the small groups, and maybe use different parts of the stage not just the front of the stage.

Down and Outs Choreography

Evaluation of Cats solo

I think what worked within my Choreography is the turns and slides, what did not work was the back bends and I did not use as much Gestures to portray Cats, If I was to do it again I would use more leaps and turns and Gestures I would also use the space more and move around because I didn not use the space well.

Rush Reveiw

Akram Khan Rush Review:
Rush is a Dance sequence of 3 people dancing it is a contemporary dance phase. 3 people are performing at different speeds thought out the phase. It is a form of Indian classical dace called 'Khatak'. The phase explores spatial freedom and associated with the unpredictable journey of falling out of a plane. When they used different Dynamics it made it more visually pleasing, On the contrast there were moment of stillness in the piece this makes you feel more aware as they were one minuite going rerally fast and then they just stop. The dancer had alot of control over their body this can be seen when they forse for 10 seconds. this also shows they have good stamina.
The dance its self had alot of canon, Unison, And solo moments. the effect of canon shows that the dancers have got commincation with each other, The use of unison this shows that they are one big group of people not just danceing alone, the effect unison had on me is being aware of timeing and dancers around me in my own performance. There were times when only one dancer would be performing this was intresting because it showed that they were also very alone, and their individual skills. The use of repatation and imitation was intresting at first however i felt as if it became tedious as i was seeing the same thing over again.
Overall i thought it was really good how they used the different types of dance techniqe to show a moving piece. It was very intents to watch because of the rapied movments, However they could of not used repatation as much as they did.

My own opinion:
I wasn't sure to start with when we first saw the video i thought that it would be boring. But it was actually really good fun. it also challenged us. I also liked it because i got to work with people that i didn't normally work with and it got me talking to everyone in the class.
